Holding Hands

Osteopathy is a manual therapy based on the anatomy and physiology of the human body. It focuses on the relationship between structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) in order to support and enhance the body’s inherent ability to heal. Osteopaths are able to address the root cause of the patient’s discomfort with the understanding that the human body is an interrelated system of bones, muscles, nerves, connective tissue/fascia, blood vessels, organs, lymphatic, and fluids. Osteopathic treatments help to re-establish optimal motion and function of each body structure while helping the body auto-regulate.

Osteopathy can be used for newborns through to the elderly and is an excellent preventive practice that can be used for a variety of issues, including:

  • acute or chronic pain

  • digestive problems, muscle spasms

  • headaches, migraines, vertigo, concussions

  • to optimize athletic performance

  • pre- and post-surgery care

  • trauma (physical, emotional, mental)

  • reproductive health, pregnancy and postpartum care

  • Newborns & babies: premature, feeding/latching, plagiocephaly, colic, gas, complicated pregnancy or labour, general check-up to promote healthy growth and development, difficulty with certain developmental milestones, post-injury, etc.

  • Children & teens: all of the above
